Body Found in St. Pete Drainage Pond

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating the Thursday afternoon discovery of a body in a drainage pond. The body was recovered from the area of 47th Avenue North and 3rd Street North, the agency said.

According to the police department, the discovery was made shortly before 4 p.m. Dec. 1. Police say the body belongs to an adult white male. There are no visible signs of trauma on the body, which was found floating in the water, the agency noted in an email to media.

No further information is available at this time, including the man’s identity or estimated age.
