A St. Petersburg woman suffered life-threatening injuries during a Thursday afternoon crash.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 55-year-old St. Petersburg woman was injured while riding a bicycle along 41st Street Thursday afternoon.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, Isabella Wong, 20, was driving a 2003 Mercedes west on 54th Avenue South around 4:25 p.m. As Wong traveled in the center lane, Brenda L. Myers was driving a bicycle southbound on 41st Street, following behind a bike ridden by her adult son.

Myers’ son crossed the road and made it to the center median, police wrote in an email to media. Myers, however, “rode her bicycle into the path of the oncoming vehicle and was struck.”
