Florida Holocaust Museum Burglarized

A Clearwater man faces criminal charges following a Sunday morning break-in at the Florida Holocaust Museum.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 23-year-old Clearwater man faces criminal charges following a Sunday morning burglary at the Florida Holocaust Museum.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, an alarm at the 55 Fifth St. S. museum was tripped around 3 a.m. Oct. 30. When police officers arrived a few minutes later, they found Christopher Michael Venegas, an email from police said.

After looking at surveillance footage of the break-in, police say Venegas kicked and broke an electronic keypad and call box. Doing so gave him access to the inside of the museum, the email said.
