St. Pete Man’s Death Under Investigation
Breaking: Foul play is suspected in the death of a man found dead in his St. Petersburg home on Monday.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The Monday morning death of a 76-year-old St. Petersburg man is now under investigation as a homicide.
According to St. Petersburg Police, Robert Bonnell was found dead inside his 6th Avenue North home Monday morning. Police say Bonnell’s roommate located the body and notified authorities.
On Wednesday, police announced the Oct. 24 incident was initially classified as an “unattended death due to no obvious signs of trauma.” Further investigation, however, has led detectives to “suspect foul play,” the agency wrote in a Wednesday email to media. The case is now being treated as a homicide.

No further information about Bonnell’s death is being released at this time.
