St. Pete Motorcyclist Killed in Pinellas Park Crash

A 38-year-old St. Petersburg man was killed in a Wednesday evening crash in Pinellas Park.

PINELLAS PARK, FL — The Pinellas Park Police Department has released details related to a fatal Wednesday evening motorcycle crash that resulted in the death of a St. Petersburg man.

According to the agency, Shane McEntegart, 38, was heading east on Park Boulevard around 6 p.m. Oct. 19 on a Honda motorcycle. As McEntegart approached 43rd Street, a Toyota Corolla driven by Ralph Martin, 44, of St. Petersburg was waiting to make a left turn from westbound Park Boulevard to head south on 43rd Street, an email from police said.

Witnesses told police, the light for east and west traffic turned yellow and a vehicle in front of McEntegart’s bike began to slow.

“The motorcycle then cut between two unrelated vehicles who were in the curb and center lane also traveling eastbound on Park Boulevard,” the email said. At that time, Martin attempted to clear the intersection by making his left turn.

McEntegart’s motorcycle struck the front passenger side of the Toyota, ejecting him from the bike, the email said. McEntegart died at the scene. Martin was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, police noted.
