St. Pete Police Officer Charged in 2nd DUI
An off-duty St. Petersburg Police Officer was found sleeping behind the wheel of his personal car Monday night, authorities say.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 36-year-old St. Petersburg Police Officer faces DUI charges after a Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputy allegedly found him sleeping behind the wheel Monday night.
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, the deputy found Officer Anthony Green stopped in the southbound lane of Gulf Boulevard at Madeira Way around 10:49 p.m. Oct. 17. Green was in his personal vehicle at the time, the police department wrote in an email to media.
Green was booked into the Pinellas County Jail around 3:33 a.m. Oct. 18. It is unclear at this time if Green provided a breath or blood sample prior to his arrest.

The DUI arrest is a second for Green, the police department said. His first arrest occurred in 2009.
Green was hired by the police department in February 2005 and became a sworn officer on Nov. 7, 2005.
