Woman Sought in St. Pete Bank Robbery

St. Petersburg Police say a woman in her 50s to 60s robbed a 62nd Avenue Bank of America branch Monday afternoon.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is looking for help identifying a woman its officers say robbed a bank on 62nd Avenue North Monday afternoon.

According to the agency, the woman walked into the 1135 62nd Ave. N. Bank of America around 12:15 p.m. Nov. 7. Police say the woman passed the teller a note and claimed she had a bomb.

The teller gave the woman an undisclosed amount of money, an email from the agency said. With cash in hand, the woman walked out and got into a tan or cream colored minivan, possibly a Mazda. Police say the license plate had been removed.

The woman is believed to be between 50 and 60 years old.

Anyone with information about the woman’s identity is asked to call the agency at 727-893-7780. Tips may also be tested to 847-411 by texting “SPPD” and the tip.
