On 9/13/2025 at approximately 0041 hours, officers responded to a report of a shooting-in
progress, located at 522 Midway Lane, Tarpon Springs, Fl. Upon officers arrival on-scene,
Tarpon Springs Police officers located an adult male, who was unresponsive and immediately began live saving measures on the male, who had gunshot wounds to the upper body. The male was transported to Advent Health North Pinellas and subsequently transported to Bayonet Point Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. At this time, the investigation has revealed that the deceased male unlawfully entered the residence and an altercation ensued. At that time, occupants of the residence retrieved their firearm and fired several rounds at the decedent, striking him. The decedent is identified as George Tirikos of Tarpon Springs, Fl. All parties are identified in this case and are cooperating with law enforcement. This investigation is ongoing by the Tarpon Springs Detective Division in conjunction with the Pinellas County State Attorney’s Office, as a possible Stand Your Ground Case.
