501 So. Walton Property Draws Thoughts From Readers

On Tarpon Springs Patch, we highlight interaction with our users. Today, we're featuring comments on a recent story about an empty city-owned property.

Last week we asked readers what they thought would be a good fit for the vacant property at 501 So. Walton Ave. in Tarpon Springs.

Comments from a previous story showed positive support for a possible assisted living facility.

"I have stated that the property should be used for future growth of Tarpon Springs government because it is centrally located and near the fire and police administration bldg. The city should tear down the building and begin saving money out of each budget to build for Tarpon's future. The city building needs to have massive repairs, it is time for the city to look to the future and retain that property for the future of Tarpon Springs."
While Tommy Frain commented:
"The City needs to get these properties off of their books. This would not be an ideal location for City Hall anyway. If we want to look at another location for City Hall, it should be in our downtown area to promote small community we are striving for here in Tarpon Springs."
