Commissioner Susan Slattery Elected Vice Mayor

After Chis Alahouzos' term ended on Tuesday night, the City Commission nominated and elected Slattery as the new vice mayor of Tarpon Springs.

It was a whirlwind of exciting announcements and welcome speeches at Tuesday's Board of Commissioners meeting, from termed-out Chris Alahouzous' announcement to run for mayor in a coming race to the welcoming of newcomer, Commissioner David Banther.

With the end of Alahouzos' term at hand, the City Commission unanimously decided to elect Commissioner Susan Slattery as the new vice mayor of Tarpon Springs.

According to Mayor David O. Archie, the commissioner who has served the longest is normally elected as the vice mayor.

He said that there have been a few exceptions, but Vice Mayor Slattery's position was earned after having the most time on the Board of Commissioners.
