Get Rid of Mosquitos this Summer

Florida summers are great for getting out and about, but the mosquitos have the same plan.

With recent rainfalls and wet days ahead, mosquitos can be assured to start getting around. If you’re looking to keep the pests away, Pinellas County offers a few tips for keeping them clear from your home.

• Clear out any buckets or pails that contain standing water.
• If you have birdbaths, make sure to flush the water out weekly
• Make sure to clean out the gutters, which can typically hold standing water.
• Change the water in outdoor pet dishes regularly. 
• If you have a pool, keep the water freshly cholorinated.
• Cover rain barrels with screening.
• Take steps to improve your drainage systems to eliminate puddling of water.
