Pinellas County Library Fund Dropping

Due to the decision for the East Lake library to become self-funded, the Pinellas County Library Fund will go down by 18 percent.

East Lake's move into aΒ separateΒ taxing district will effect the Pinellas County Library Fund,Β according to Tampabay.com.
The Pinellas County Library Fund could be reduced by 18 percent for next year.Β
The reduction comes from the fact that East Lake now exists under a special taxing district, rather than paying taxes directly to the county.
The lower Pinellas County Library Fund will cause other libraries in the area covered by the money, like the Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs Library to lose some funding.
