Roofer Dead After 20-Foot Fall From Tarpon Springs Church

TARPON SPRINGS, FL — A Thursday morning construction accident at First Baptist Church in Tarpon Springs has resulted in the death of a 29-year-old Crystal Beach man.

According to the Tarpon Springs Police Department, Garrett Marshall was working on the roof of the 1021 Gulf Road church before 10 a.m. Feb. 2 when he fell. Marshall, who worked for Lester F. Paulk and Sons Roofing, fell about 20 feet from the roof to the ground below, an email from the police department said.

Marshall was taken to a local hospital following the fall, but died from his injuries, police say.

No further information is being released at this time.
