Shooting Leaves One Man Dead, Another Critically Injured
Tarpon Springs Police officers are on the hunt for a man they say might be responsible for shooting two others Monday, Aug. 5.

One of the victims in Monday's double shooting in Tarpon Springs has died. The other remains in critical condition, according to the city's police department.
The incident unfolded around 2:35 p.m. Monday when police responded to a call made by a Florida Capital Bank employee who reportedly heard gunshots nearby.
Near the 710 E. Tarpon Ave. bank police found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. According to a release from the police department, the two men are transients.
Paramedics were called and the men were taken by Bay Flight to Bayfront Hospital. According to police, one of the men died around 5:30 p.m. and the other is in critical condition.
The victims' names are not being released at this time as police try to notify the next of kin.
Police say the employee who made the call saw a man running from the scene. He was reportedly headed south on Walton Avenue on foot. The shooting suspect is still at large and was described as a man wearing red shorts and a white shirt.
