Tarpon Police: 'Water Update' Not From City, County

The Tarpon Springs Police Department issued a statement Tuesday morning to inform residents that a bulletin being distributed around town is not from the city, the county or the state of Florida.

The Tarpon Springs Police Department has issued an informative bulletin to advise residents that flyers, postcards and emails being distributed in our area entitled "Water Update!" have no affiliation with the city of Tarpon Springs, Pinellas County or the State of Florida. 

According to city officials, the flyers are being distributed by a private company that sells water treatment equipment.

The flyer reads as follows:

"Water Update!  Unfortunately we were unable to reach you by phone or in person.  Upon receiving this notice we ask that you contact our office within 72 hours.  Office Hours Mon-Fri 9am-6pm Water Resource Dept. Jack Travis 352-346-5943"
