If you are a Tarpon Springs resident, at least 18 years of age and have lived in Tarpon Springs for a full year by November 26th 2025, then you are likely eligible to run for City Commission.

Seat #1

Incumbent David Banther is pre-qualified to run.

Seat #2

Incumbent Frank DiDonato is pre-qualified to run.

Lori Weaver is pre-qualified to run for Seat #2 and is considering running.

Former Candidate Georganna Frantzis has incidated she is not running for office. All 5 elected officials in Tarpon Springs are currently male.

You can get qualified from October 27th 2025 - November 26th 2025.

The total cost to run for City Commission is $140. You must have 25 Tarpon registered voters sign a petition to nominate you for being on the ballot for the March 10th 2026 ballot. Commissioners are then sworn-in on April 14th 2026. This is for a 3 year term. Pay is $11,500 per year. You can only hold one public paid office if you are a City Commissioner.

Tarpon Springs has 4 Commissioners and 1 Mayor, each of whom are elected. The Mayor appoints one of the Commissioners to be the Vice-Mayor.
