Water Service Restored, Boil Water Notice in Effect in Northwest Tarpon

About 200 homes had been without service since Sunday afternoon following a break at Florida and Forde avenues, near Tarpon Springs Middle School.

Service has been restored to about 200 Tarpon Springs homes that were without water since Sunday afternoon because of a water main break, the city said Monday morning.

A boil water notice is in effect until further notice for residents affected by the break, which happened at Florida and Forde avenues in northwest Tarpon Springs around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, ABC Action News reports.

The water was turned back on just before 3 a.m., the news station reports. City crews were working to fill in a huge hole in the middle of the road where the leak occurred, which is near Tarpon Springs Middle School.

There is a boil water notice in effect for the following areas:

Parkside Colony Drive, Windrush Bay Drive, Windrush Loop

The following areas may experience low water pressure, but are not subject to the boil water notice:

Explorers Cove Subdivision, including Grand Central Drive, Sunkissed Drive, Mandalay Drive, Mexico Avenue, Gulf Road and Gulf Beach Boulevard
