'We Salute You' Schedule Announced

On Monday, May 27 organizers of the We Salute You event will host the second annual celebration of America's military heroes in observance of Memorial Day.

The event, which takes place on the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks, boasted $8,000 raised in its first year. The group hopes to raise $10,000 this year and as of Friday, May 10, the group said they were "just shy" of their goal.

Below is a rundown of activities for the 2013 event.

Daytime activities take place from 12-4 p.m. with no ticket purchase necessary:

From 12-4 p.m.

• Fire and police department vehicles from around Pinellas County on display 
• Barbecue and Greek foods available for purchase at Riverside Grille
• Demetri and The Islanders offer rooftop entertainment on the Riverside Grille veranda
• Arista Entertainment will dj in front of the veranda
• Face painting
• Balloons

12 p.m.

• Magic Jay 

12:30 p.m.

• Mathew & Michael, Gold-n-Fire

1 p.m.

• The Barnkickers

1:30 p.m.

• St. Nicholas Greek Dance Group, Flash Mob

2 p.m.

• Ms. Chloe Hand performs National Anthem as Pinellas County Sheriff helicopter provides fly over salute

2:30 p.m.

• Levendia performance in traditional Greek costumes

3 p.m. 

• The Barnkickers

Evening activities begin at 5 p.m. and tickets are $10 each:

• Bagpipes tribute - Palm Harbor Fire Department District Chief Fritz
• Presentation of Colors by The Tarpon Springs Police Department Honor Guard
• Pledge of Allegiance
• National Anthem performed by The We Salute You Trio
• U.S. Armed Forces Medley Featuring Gary Sinise, as seen on PBS.
• Dinner
• Entertainment provided by Bobby Palermo
