2 Men Sought In 2 Foiled Armed Robberies (Video)

Hillsborough County deputies say two robbers struck two Family Dollar stores within minutes. They walked away empty handed both times.

TAMPA, FL β€” The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is looking for help identifying two men its deputies say held up two Family Dollar stores within the span of about 8 minutes on Saturday.

According to the agency, the first armed robbery attempt occurred around 9:41 p.m. on Feb. 4. Two men entered the 7511 N. 56th St. Family Dollar store and instantly demanded cash from the clerk.

β€œOne of the suspects was armed with a silver handgun, which appeared to be equipped with a laser sight,” an email from the sheriff’s office said.

Before getting any cash, the two men took off on foot. Deputies believe they had a vehicle parked nearby because the same two men are thought to be responsible for a robbery that occurred just about 8 minutes later at the Family Dollar at 4978 E. Busch Blvd. Deputies say the two men also walked away without any cash in that crime.

While the Feb. 4 spree was unsuccessful, deputies would still very much like to speak to both of the suspects. They are both described as being black males between the age of 17 and 24. They both have a thin build and stand approximately 5-foot-7.
