This project is being coordinated with Hillsborough County, the city of Tampa, the city of Temple Terrace, the Hillsborough Transportation Planning Organization and the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority to develop potential solutions that improve multimodal safety, operations and connectivity.
Two segments of the study corridor were identified by the Hillsborough TPO as a Vision Zero corridor, meaning there were a high numberof severe crashes leading to fatalities and serious injuries.
The 2012-2016 crash analysis showed that the corridor had 15 severe crashes per mile.
A primary focus of this corridor study is to identify safety solutions and countermeasures to improve the safety for all users of this corridor. The study also will determine how best to meet the needs of current and future users and establish a long-term plan to guide the land and transportation uses in the corridor.
At the public meeting, the study team will share and gather feedback on potential typical section alternatives and intersection treatments.
