Humans have been selectively breeding dogs for thousands of years to bring out certain physical, intellectual and instinctual qualities, said Shawn Rhodes in his latest blog on Temple Terrace Patch.
Then, is it possible for scientists to use those same techniques to produce more musical prodigies, world-class athletes and genuises?
"You share the same physical body and genetic code as each master craftsman, athlete or artist that has ever spent time on this planet," said Rhodes. "There is only a difference of 0.1 to 0.4 percent of any two humans in the history of our species."
