Breakfast Introduces New Teachers to Community

Teachers and business owners are scheduled to come together Aug. 17 during the ’s New Teacher Breakfast.

The 15th annual event will help acquaint an estimated 150 new teachers with the community and provide opportunities for local businesses to get involved in the education of local children.

“This is the chamber’s way of extending a warm welcome to teachers who are new to over 20 schools in the greater Temple Terrace area,” said Barbara Sparks-McGlinchy, the chamber’s executive director.

The event will take place at the . Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. and breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. The reservation deadline is Aug. 9.

The cost for chamber members to attend is $20. Sponsorships are available for $20 per teacher or $150 for a table of eight teachers. Chamber members can also donate a door prize or $50 to have a table in the hallway to display material.
