Family Suing School, City of Temple Terrace Following Son's Death
The Schillingford family holds the school and city accountable for their son's death at a back-to-school party in 2012.

In September 2012, Jesse Schillingford died after nearly drowning at theΒ Temple Terrace Family Recreation ComplexΒ swimming pool during a back-to-school party.
Last week,Β the Schillingford family filedΒ a wrongful death lawsuitΒ against The Pepin Academey and the City of Temple Terrace, according toΒ ABC Action News.Β
At the time, an estimated 150 teachers, parents and kids were in attendance. Several lifeguards were also on duty, the city stated in a Temple Terrace Patch report from the time of the incident.

Jesse's father, Skelford says that he warned the school that his son wasn't a good swimmer. He claims he was assured everything would be alright, according to the ABC report.Β
