Florida College Ensembles Prepare for Final Concerts

The school year is winding down, and Florida College's music groups will be performing to close out 2011-12.

As the 2011-12 school year winds down, theΒ Β chorus and band ensembles are preparing to go out with a bang in the final concerts of the season.Β 

TheΒ FloridaΒ CollegeΒ chorus wrapped a successful Spring Break tour of the Southeast during the second week of March and is looking forward to the last show of the year on . The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and will feature selections from the popular Celtic Woman ensemble.

On ,Β FloridaΒ College’s Wind Ensemble and Jazz Combo will perform at 7 p.m.Β The Wind Ensemble will perform works by legendary band composers Gustav Holst, Gordon Jacob, and Percy Grainger, as well as pieces with Armenian and Romanian influences.Β The Jazz Combo will perform arrangements of tunes by Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Sonny Rollins, Horace Silver, and others.

And to wrap theΒ college’s music season, the String and Chamber ensemble will perform on at 7:30 p.m. in Hutchinson Auditorium.
