Juniors Lend Helping Hand

From the GFWC Temple Terrace Junior Woman’s Club:

The GFWC Temple Terrace Junior Woman's Club and Tampa Juniors assisted the New Tampa Juniors for the I Will Inspire 5K Race at Telecom Park, which was sponsored by Florida Orthopedic .

Beneficiaries of the event included The Operation Helping Hand and The I Will Foundation. Approximately 500 runners signed up in support of the event.

Temple Terrace and Tampa Juniors helped prepare food prior to the race and cheered on and handed out water bottles to thirsty runners after the race. As members of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, an international women's organization, club members often reach out to assist in other clubs’ fundraising events.

The GFWC Temple Terrace Junior Woman's Club members wore red for their February meeting in honor of the American Heart Association's Wear Red Day for American Heart Month. A donation will be made to the AHA from the club. According to the American Heart Association website, heart attacks kill more women than all cancers combined.

The GFWC Temple Terrace Junior Woman's Club consists of ladies age 18 and older who want to make a difference in the community and the world. The club meets from August to May on the third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at Woodmont Clubhouse. For more information, visit the club's Facebook page.
