In 2004, former Temple Terrace Mayor Fran Barford declared Jan. 14 "Marie Corbett Day," to honor Corbett for her service to the community through the Garden Club. On Wednesday, Mayor Frank Chillura renewed the proclamation. He also thanked the club for its work throughout the community, but especially in Woodmont Park, according to club member Cheri Donohue, who was present at the dedication.

A luncheon immediately followed the dedication.
