Section Of Sligh Avenue To Close For Intersection Improvements

TAMPA, FL β A quarter-mile section of Sligh Avenue from Harney Road to Orient Road will close from March 9 to April 8 for intersection improvements.
The closure will encompass both eastbound and westbound lanes of traffic.
The project will improve traffic and safety conditions by adding three new turn lanes and a traffic signal in accordance with the county's Vision Zero initiative. The project adds a northbound to westbound left-turn lane from Orient Road onto Sligh Avenue, an eastbound to southbound right-turn lane from Sligh Avenue onto Orient Road, and a northbound to eastbound left-turn lane from Sligh Avenue onto Orient Road.

To detour, drivers will take Harney Road, Hillsborough Avenue and Orient Road to get around the intersection. Drivers are asked to use caution in the area and to take alternate routes and posted detours.
