According to U.S. News & World Report, the publication ranks professional school programs in business, education, engineering, law, and medicine each year. The rankings are based on two types of data: expert opinions about the program; and statistics on the quality of the schoolβs faculty, research and students.
Experts include administrators at more than 1,250 programs and more than 13,000 academics and professionals.
The quality measures include:
- peer assessment scores;
- superintendent assessment scores;
- 2012 mean Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores of doctoral students;
- 2012 doctoral acceptance rates;
- 2012 doctoral student/faculty ratios;
- doctoral degrees granted per faculty in 2011-2012;
- 2012 funded research dollars;
- 2012 funded research per full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty member; and
- total graduate education enrollment in 2012.
βWe are pleased to be ranked among the best in the country,β said Harold Keller, dean of the USF College of Education, in the USF release. βOur faculty, staff, and students are what make the high quality of our graduate programs nationally recognized.β
