A blaze at an Odessa home took a fatal turn Monday morning.

ODESSA, FL — A Monday morning fire at an Odessa home claimed one life and left another person injured.
According to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, the fire in the 17000 block of Golf Vista Court in the Silver Dollar Golf and Trap community was reported around 5:40 a.m. Nov. 28. When fire crews arrived, they found a doublewide mobile home fully involved.
Firefighters were notified there might be a person inside the home and “immediately started search and rescue operations,” according to an email from the agency. Firefighters were able to recover a body from inside the home, the email said.

Paramedics were also notified about a victim that had made it outside the home after the blaze broke out, the email said. That person was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Efforts to put out of the fire were hampered by a lack of fire hydrants in the area, the agency noted. A water shuttling operation was put into place and a portable water tank was brought to the scene, as well.
