A group of seven third graders from Mary Bryant Elementary participated in the Regional Odyssey of the Mind Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 18 and received first place in their division. They also secured a spot in the state tournament which will take place in April and are hoping to move on the world championship in May. This was the very first year that Mary Bryant Elementary had teams participate in the tournament. The program was led by Ms. Amanda Streets, a teacher at the school and students who were interested in the team had to try out to secure one of the seven spots. Once selected, they met on a regular basis with Mrs. Victoria Muzyka, the team coach, to prepare for the competition. Odyssey of the Mind is a national creative problem-solving program for students of all ages.
