Bowl For Burgers With The Westchase Dad's Club

The goal of the Westchase Elementary Dad's Club is pretty simple. They aim to encourage families -- especially dads -- to participate in activities together.

"But we try to create a group atmosphere that makes it a little more enjoyable," said Eric Holt, vice president of the club.

On Sunday that fun atmosphere will take place at Pin Chasers Bowling Alley (5555 W. Hillsborough Ave.) when the group will host "Bowling for Burgers," a fundraiser event.

Families will compete in groups. The cost is $10 per person payable to Westchase Elementary Dad's Club at the event.  Participants are encouraged to RSVP by e-mailing: westchasedadsclub@gmail.com

Five Guys Burgers and Fries, located at 11622 Countryway Blvd., will be sponsoring the event. The winner of the bowling tournament will receive a $50 gift certificate to the restaurant. Families participating in the event are encouraged to head over to Five Guys afterwards to continue the fun.

The Westchase Elementary Dad’s Club was founded in 2004.

“The mission is to give dads and parents in general easy access to an organization that will allow them to be more involved with their children’s education and lives in general,” said Holt, who lives in Radcliffe and is also a voting member on the Westchase Community Association Board.

Any Westchase parent or family is welcomed to participate in the club.

“It’s called the dad’s club, but it’s about bringing the whole family together," Holt said. "The dad's club is as much the moms' as anything.”
