Construction at Montague Expected To Take Longer
Repairs to a line fitting, which caused a lane to be closed, will not be done until the end of the month.
For the past couple weeks motorist heading south on Montague Street onto Linebaugh Avenue have dealt with the pains of a closed lane due to repairs to an underground pipe.
And it seems motorist will have to deal with the close lane, orange tape and heavy equipment for a bit longer, according to county officials.

Repairs to the broken fitting, which connects two water lines, will not be complete until July 26, said Steve Valdez, public utilities spokesman.
In early June, officials said the repairs should only take two weeks.

“We thought it was just a simple line fix," Valdez said. "But they are actually having some issues with the line itself.”
Workers thought the fitting was a simple blown line.
"This one actually has some problems," Valdez said. "They are having to do some re-engineering."
