Earth Day at the Libraries, Pool Hours: 5 Things To Know This Week (April 23-27)

A look at the week ahead in our area.

  1. There's still time to celebrate Earth Day. The Upper Tampa Bay Library will hold a birthday party for Earth with hands-on activiites, games and more on Monday, April 23, 2:30pm-3:30pm. Then head over to Austin Davis Library for stories about Earth during their celebration at 4:00pm-4:45pm. Both events are children and family friendly.
  2. It's FCAT time this week for Hillsborough County School third graders who will be taking reading and math FCATs this week. And fourth-tenth graders taking reading, math, science FCATs. Good luck students!
  3. Head over to Citrus Park Mall's Chick-fil-A where they'll host a "Mommy and Me" playdate on Wednesday, April 25 10am-11am. This event will include crafts, a visit from the Chick-fil-A cow, and enoy a sample of the new Chocolate Chunk Cookies. Citrus Park Mall is located at 8019 Citrus Park Town Center Drive.   4. Do you have a electronic reader? Learn how to check out and download free library eBooks to read onto a PC, Mac, Nook, Kobo, Sony and other eReaders on Friday, April 27 at the Upper Tampa Bay Library, 2pm. Class limited to 9 participants. Register after 1pm in person for this instructional class. Upper Tampa Bay Library, 12111 Countryway Blvd in Tampa. For more information call: 813-273-3652.
