Fire Destroys Barn In Westchase; No Injuries

Hillsborough County fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed a barn on Buckskin Place in Westchase.

WESTCHASE, FL — Hillsborough County fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed a barn on Buckskin Place in Westchase early Wednesday morning.

The property owner called 911 at 2:13 a.m. to initially report a fire in the trees near the house before realizing that a large cement-block barn on the property was on fire.

Engine 39 was the first unit on the scene. The crew stretched a hose line to begin a defensive attack. Additional crews arrived with more handlines to attack the blaze from several sides.

The fire was out within 45 minutes. The barn was unoccupied at the time.
