Florida’s Best Suburbs Ranked: ICYMI
Niche.com has ranked Florida's best suburbs to live in for 2017 based on crime, schools and other factors. Is your community on the list?

What defines a great community? According to the folks at Niche.com, a low crime rate, quality schools, access to jobs and an affordable cost of living all play big roles. Based on those factors and more, the website has released a rankings report of the best Florida suburbs to live in for 2017.
To achieve its ranking calculations, Niche drew data from the U.S. Census Bureau, FBI, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and other sources. When the numbers were crunched, Miami’s Pinecrest neighborhood was ranked No. 1 in the Sunshine State. Orlando’s Horizon West earned second-place honors while Tampa’s Westchase scored third place.

Tampa Bay area suburbs are well represented on the list of 100 ranked communities. In the statewide rankings, aside from Westchase, these towns in the region earned recognition:

- 9th place – Pebble Creek
- 1th place – Feather Sound
- 22nd place – Carrollwood
- 25th place – Northdale
- 29th place – Temple Terrace
- 33rd place – Bloomingdale
- 34th place – Keystone
- 36th place – Citrus Park
- 37th place – Wesley Chapel
- 43rd place – Lutz
- 48th place – Lake Magdalene
- 52nd place – Cheval
- 54th place – East Lake
- 58th place – Land O’ Lakes
- 60th place – Safety Harbor
- 64th place – Brandon
- 66th place – Belleair
- 69th place – Town ‘N Country
- 70th place – Progress Village
- 71st place – Riverview
- 75th place – Valrico
- 76th place – Palm Harbor
- 85th place – Oldsmar
- 90th place – Lakeland Highlands

On the national level, not a single Florida suburb made the list of 100. Carmel, Indiana, earned first-place honors nationally, followed by Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania.
