Going to the Lightning Game? Help the Needy
If you're headed to the Lightning game tonight or next week bring a canned good for the less fortunate.

The Tampa Bay Lightning, in conjunction with community partner
Metropolitan Ministries, have once again teamed to collect non-perishable food
for the less fortunate in the community.
The food will be collected beore the Nov. 4 game against the Chicago Blackhawks and the Nov. 17 game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The collection point will be located at the west plaza prior to the game.
Metropolitan Ministries provides assistance for the poor, homeless and
at-risk families living in the community. The Ministries, a faith-based and
community-supported non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization, is funded through the
charitable support of the community, including individuals, businesses,
congregations, schools, foundations and civic groups.
The Ministry projects needs will increase during Thanksgiving and Christmas. They are currently hoping to serve more than 25,000 families across the Bay Area. Items in most demand are grocery gift cards (for turkeys), cereal, yams, canned fruit and boxed stuffing. Fans can also donate $10, or the equivalent of one turkey, to a family in need via text by sending the word METRO to 20222 (standard message rates may apply).
