Helicopter Crashes Into Odessa Home

Hillsborough County deputies are investigating a helicopter-versus-house crash.

ODESSA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Monday evening crash involving a helicopter and an Odessa home.

The incident reportedly occurred in the 9400 block of Roberts Road before 6 p.m.

“The helicopter is on the roof of the residence,” an email from sheriff’s office spokeswoman Debbie Carter said. “The only person in the helicopter was the pilot, and he called in the crash.”

Deputies say only a dog was in the home when the crash occurred. It was not injured. It is unclear if the pilot was injured or if the home was damaged.

No further information, including the name of the pilot, is available at this time.
