Tijuana Flats Awards Employee For Leadership

Westchase Tijuana Flats employee receives $3,000 scholarship.

Each year, Tijuana Flats awards Leadership Development Scholarships to deserving employees. This year a Westchase location employee received the honor.

Genesis De La Monta of Tampa received a $3,000 scholarship toward college expenses. De La Monta is in her final year at Hillsborough Community College. The Tampa resident volunteers regularly with Tijuana Flats’ Just In Queso Foundation.

"Genesis’ professionalism day in and day out, along with her commitment to teamwork and the community, earned her a nomination," according to a Tijuana Flats headquarters official.

Tijuana Flats is known as a company that provides opportunities for personal and professional growth for its employees as often as possible.

Each year, General Managers are asked to submit the employees they feel would be a great candidate to win the Tijuana Flats Leadership Development Scholarship.

In order to receive the Tijuana Flats Leadership Development Scholarship, employees must have a minimum of one year of employment with the company and be enrolled full- or part-time in a state or community college. In addition, nominees must be active in their school and community, demonstrate a solid work ethic and strong leadership skills, and possess the attitude and passion that furthers the Tijuana Flats mission.
