Mountain biking and guided chess are among the offerings.

The fall months are a great time to get acitve outdoors and the Hillsborough County Parks and Conservation Department has a fantastic lineup of events for people who love the great outdoors and indoors. The events close to the Westchae community are below:
Mountain Bike Club at Keystone Park - The Mountain Bike Club meets on the second Friday of each month. Topics include: bike safely, equipment, Florida bike laws, introduction to Hillsborough County biking camps, regional park passes, volunteering, and group rides on Saturdays at Morris Bridge, Balm Boyette, Flatwoods, Trout Greek and Suncoast parkway trails. Novice Chess Club - Teens and adults are invited to join the Chess Club at Keystone Park. The club meets every second Tuesday of the month. Topics include: basic strategies, tactics and rules, along with computer exercise chess play. For more information, contact Keystone Park at 813-264-3819.

Bakas Equestrian Center Golf Tournament - Show your support for Hillsborough County’s Bakas Equestrian Center by playing in their golf tournament fundraiser on Sunday, Nov. 4, at the Westchase Golf Club, 11602 Westchase Golf Drive in Tampa. This four-person scramble begins with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. Registration starts at 11:30 a.m., and includes a pre-tournament driving range practice, a round of golf, on-course contests, and post-tournament dinner. Proceeds to benefit the Bakas Equestrian Center. For more information contact the center at 813-264-3890.
