Variety Playhouse

Kevin Scott returns to Variety Playhouse for the 10th annual Funky Holiday Spectacular, an all-out dance party featuring soulful holiday favorites and iconic classics. This year marks a decade of high-energy performances and Atlanta’s favorite funk-filled holiday tradition. 
An all-star lineup joins Scott for the celebration, including a powerhouse roster of artists including Marcus King, Kevn Kinney, Mark Lettieri, Jontavious Willis, Eddie 9V, and members of Blackberry Smoke, Snarky Puppy, Widespread Panic, Galactic, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and a rotating cast of standout vocalists and instrumentalists. Several special guests will also be announced closer to the show, promising an unforgettable night of music and surprise moments. 
Proceeds benefit the Georgia Music Foundation, which supports statewide music education and preservation initiatives, Backline, a nonprofit providing mental health and wellness resources for music industry professionals, and Vermin Sanctuary, a non-profit dedicated to the rescue, rehab, and release of injured and orphaned native wildlife. Running nightly from 5-10 p.m. through January 4, 2026, the newly designed <a href="https://www.lanierislands.com/holiday-events/magical-nights-of-lights/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Magical Nights of Lights</a> at Lanier Islands Resort features six miles of twinkling, animated light displays. Guests can tune in to Star 94 FM during their modern-day sleigh ride, filling each vehicle with holiday cheer amid a backdrop of classic Christmas carols. 
Once you’ve wound your way through the light displays, guests can pop by <a href="https://www.lanierislands.com/game-changer/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Game Changer</a> to warm up with hot cocoa or mulled wine, roast s’mores by the outdoor firepits, or step inside the ultimate indoor entertainment destination, which will be transformed into an extravagantly festive wonderland. In addition to 23,000 square feet of arcade games, duckpin bowling, axe throwing, adult gaming machines, and virtual sports suites, Game Changer will showcase Clark’s Holiday Pop-Up Bar with Moose Mug cocktails and holiday treats. On select nights, Santa Claus will also be on hand to pose for pictures and listen to Christmas wishes from little ones. Afterwards, light watchers can head over to <a href="https://www.margaritavilleresorts.com/margaritaville-at-lanier-islands/attractions/license-to-chill-snow-island" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">License to Chill Snow Island</a> for ice skating, carnival rides, fresh fallen snow, and chances to brave Georgia’s longest, fastest &amp; only snow tubing slide down Blizzard Mountain.
As in the past, pricing for this treasured holiday attraction will be based on the carload, rather than on individual guests. <a href="https://www.lanierislands.com/holiday-events/buy-tickets/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Passes can be purchased online</a> or at the gate for a starting price of just $35 per vehicle of up to 10 guests. Admittance for vans and shuttles of 11 to 20 guests starts at $100, and buses of 21 passengers or more will start at $250. Pricing may vary by the evening attended. 
With donation drives for Georgia Mountain Food Bank and Toys for Tots, donors can receive <a href="https://www.lanierislands.com/holiday-events/special-experiences/give-back-nights/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">"Give Back" discounts on select nights throughout the Magical Nights of Lights Season</a> – valued at $30*. There will also be discount nights for active-duty military members, veterans, first responders, and educators on the resort’s event calendar.
