February 7-11, 2022 is National School Counseling Week - a special time to show our school counselors appreciation for all they do. Learn more about their roles below.

Elementary school counselors are trained in child development, learning strategies, self-management and social skills. They work intentionally to lay a "love of learning" foundation for all students by helping them to become more engaged in their learning and connected to their school. This helps students to be more successful academically, socially, and personally!

Middle school counselors are trained to identify students’ academic and social/emotional needs, as well as provide necessary interventions to remove barriers to learning. They help students develop skills and behaviors critical for academic achievement, building the foundation for future success.

High school counselors enhance the learning process and promote academic, college/career, and social/emotional development. They help students achieve personal growth, obtain positive social skills, and set informed college and career goals. High school counselors help students navigate high stakes testing, the challenges of college admissions, the scholarship and financial aid application process, and/or entrance into the workforce.
