Brothers From Winder Cross Paths in Afghanistan at Promotion Ceremony
One brother, a lieutenant, was able to promote his brother and fellow soldier to sergeant.
Two brothers from Winder, Ga. on deployment in Afghanistan recently took part in a very special promotion ceremony.
On Oct. 9, Army 2nd Lt. Karl F. Knowlton had the opportunity to promote his older brother George C. Knowlton to sergeant.
“Some of the qualities of my brother I would like to emulate are taking care of my troops as well as he does, being hard-working and doing the right thing,” Sgt. Knowlton said of his younger brother according to a U.S. Department of Defense press release. “You know he always does the right thing, so I’d really like to be like him.”
