Concrete Panel Installation Now Complete, Curbing and Gutter Work Continues

All 350 concrete panels have been installed in downtown Winder as the new driving surface on Broad Street.

With panel installation complete, work will continue on gutter and curbing between Midland Avenue and Stephens Street this week. The installation of conduit and the bases for new decorative lighting will also begin this week.

According to a press release from the Georgia Department of Transportation, work on the .72-mile, $4.9 million project will now focus on streetscaping - wider sidewalks, decorative lighting, benches, bike racks and plantings. Damaged asphalt in parking areas will be removed and rebuilt as well.
