Dead Snake Found in Mailbox
Woman called the Barrow County Sheriff's Office after a friend said there was a snake in a neighbor's mailbox.

Law enforcement officers are called upon to deal with all sorts of strange issues -- including finding a dead snake in a mailbox.
A Bethlehem woman contacted the Barrow County Sheriff's Office on Oct. 17 after a friend informed her there was a snake in her neighbor's mailbox. The woman explained her mailbox is directly beside her neighbor's mailbox.
The neighbor's mailbox did not have a door, so the deputy looked inside to see if there was in fact a snake in the mailbox.
"Inside the box I located a gray and black diamond marked snake. The snake appeared to be deceased," the deputy wrote in the report.
The deputy placed the snake in a bag and showed it to the Bethlehem woman. The deputy then returned to the woman's mailbox.
"I checked her box and found it to be free of snakes," he added.
After making sure the mailboxes were snake-free, the deputy left the scene.
