Double Lane Closures to End, Curbing and Gutter Work Continues
The around-the-clock double lane closure from Athens to Stephens Street will end Tuesday.
Single lane closures will continue, but the around-the-clock double lane closure on Broad Street between Athens Street and Stephens Street is expected to end Oct. 22.
The Georgia Department of Transportation will continue curbing and gutter work from Athens Street to Midland Avenue. That work will result in a single lane closure.
According to a GDOT press release, single lane closures will occur overnight as the concrete is ground, sealed and permanent striping is installed.
Daytime work this week will be focused on the installation of conduit and bases for new decorative lighting.
