'Largest Easter Egg Hunt Barrow County Has Ever Seen' is Today

Check-in for the helicopter egg drop starts at 2 p.m. and families are encouraged to arrive early.

Chick-fil-A, Apalachee High School and River Hills Church are hosting an Easter egg hunt of possibly epic proportions — 30,000, that right, THIRTY THOUSAND eggs will drop from a helicopter Saturday over the school's athletic fields, according to Chick-fil-A's Facebook page, which called the event the "largest Easter egg hunt Barrow County has ever seen."

Those who with to participate in the free event are encouraged to arrive early, as the event is expected to be well attended. Participants will be divided into four age groups, birth to 3 years old, 4-year-old through first-graders, second and third graders and fourth and fifth graders.

Everyone who attends will be required to come through check-in to complete and submit the waiver form and registration form. Each child will receive a colored wrist band indicating their age groups for the hunts. No child will be allowed on the fields or on the inflatables without a wrist band. There will be two separate check-in tables — one for those pre-registered through the Chick-fil-A website and one for those who are “walk-up” registrants.
