Powerball Jackpot for Wednesday Drawing at Third-Highest Prize Ever

Saturday night's $270 million Powerball prize went unclaimed. Thanks to brisk ticket sales, the jackpot for the May 15 drawing is $360 million, the third-highest prize ever for the lottery game.

Powerball tickets for each game are $2 and there’s a 1 in 175.2 million chance that any ticket will win the grand prize. Get your tickets by 10 p.m. Wednesday to play. 

The $360 million Powerball jackpot is the seventh highest annuity prize in U.S. history, and the sixth highest cash payout — $229 million — of all-time. The biggest Powerball jackpot ever was won Nov. 28, 2012, a $587.5 million prize split between two tickets. 

The largest U.S. lottery prize ever won was $656 million in the Mega Millions drawing on March 30, 2012, split among three tickets.
