Three Barrow Students Named Finalists for Governor’s Honors Program
The students are among 690 finalists chosen from almost 3,000 students across Georgia.

Three Apalachee High School students are finalists in the state's 2013 Governor’s Honors Program.
Kaitlyn Ellington (social studies), David Martin (theatre performance) and Paul Serrato (social studies) are among 690 finalists chosen from almost 3,000 students to participate in the residential summer program for gifted and talented high school juniors and seniors. The Governor's Honors Program is offered by the Georgia Department of Education. The 2013 program will be the 50th consecutive summer, making it the longest continually running program of its kind in the nation.
For four weeks, these students will spend the morning in their major area of nomination, exploring topics not usually found in the regular high school classroom. During the afternoons, students will choose one of the other areas to study.
