Two Runners from Winder Listed as Having Finished Boston Marathon

Boston Police said two explosions occurred near the race's finish line.

Boston Police are reporting at least two people died and many were injured after two explosions occurred about 2:50 p.m. Monday near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. 

According to the Boston Marathon's website, two runners in this year's race listed Winder as their hometowns, Joan Walls and David R. Tetzlaff. No entrants were listed from Auburn, Bethlehem or Statham. 

Video of the incident shows the explosion knocking runners and bystanders to the ground following the blast.

The Boston Marathon released a statement about  4 p.m. that read, "There were two bombs that exploded near the finish line in today's Boston Marathon. We are working with law enforcement to understand what exactly has happened."
