Woman Accuses Ex-Husband of Holding Children Captive, Keeping Them Sedated

Man says his ex-wife and her current boyfriend have been harassing him.

A Winder man said he is being harassed at home and at work by his ex-wife and her current boyfriend.

On Nov. 6, the man called the Barrow County Sheriff's Office to report his ex-wife and her boyfriend will not stop calling and harassing him and his adult children. According to the Winder man, his ex-wife has accused him of holding their children captive and keeping them sedated with drugs.

"[The Winder man] stated his wife accuses him of not letting her talk to her children," the deputy wrote in the report. "[The Winder man] stated his children are over the age of eighteen and are adults capable of making their own decisions."

Those decisions, the Winder man said, include choosing not to speak with their mother.

The man had 19 messages saved on his answering machine which he said were from his ex-wife and her boyfriend.

"The messages consist of a male cursing and making various statements to [the Winder man] and a female wanting to talk to the children," the deputy noted.

The Winder man also said someone had been sending defamatory emails to his employer. One of the emails reportedly stated the man was "a dangerous drug dealing boozzzzer that lies and steals."

The man said his boss informed him the corporate office had received numerous emails and is aware of the situation.

The deputy met with one of the man's adult children who advised she had, at no point, been held captive by her father, nor had he given her any drugs.

"[The daughter] advised she has told her mother that she does not want to talk with her," the deputy wrote. "[The daughter] stated that her mother has sent numerous texts to her phone but she has not responded to any of them."

The case, according to the report, has been forwarded to investigations.
